Muslim Period Tracker is a personal health and worship companion built with your privacy and dignity in mind. We understand that menstrual health data is deeply personal and sensitive — we treat it with the utmost care. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, why, and how it is protected.

Muslim Period Tracker is an independent app designed specifically for Muslim women to track their menstrual cycle in alignment with their Islamic obligations — including prayer exemptions and fasting makeup (qada).

📋 2. What Data We Collect

We collect only the data necessary to provide the app's features:

We do not collect your location, device contacts, camera, microphone, or any data beyond what is listed above.

🔐 3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to provide the app's features to you. Specifically:

To display and track your menstrual cycle history
To predict your next period and ovulation window
To determine which days you are exempted from salah and fasting
To auto-mark prayer logs as excused or missed based on your cycle
To calculate and track your Ramadan fasting debt (qada)
To send local reminder notifications (if you enable them)

We do not use your data for advertising, marketing profiling, or any commercial purpose.

🚫 4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party — ever. Your menstrual and worship data is private and will never be shared with advertisers, data brokers, or any external organisation.

The only limited exceptions are:

Infrastructure providers: Your data is stored on Neon (PostgreSQL cloud database). They process data on our behalf under strict contractual obligations and do not have access to your data for their own purposes.
Authentication: If you sign in with Google, Google processes your login on their servers. We only receive your email and name — nothing else.
Legal requirement: If we are legally compelled to disclose data (e.g. by a court order), we will notify you unless prohibited by law.

🛡️ 5. Data Storage & Security

All your data is stored in a secure, encrypted PostgreSQL database hosted on Neon's cloud infrastructure in compliance with industry-standard security practices.

Data is encrypted at rest and in transit (TLS/SSL)
Access to your data requires your authenticated session
Every database query is scoped to your unique user ID — no user can access another's data
We do not store passwords in plain text — authentication is handled via hashed credentials or OAuth

✅ 6. Your Rights

You have full control over your data. You may at any time:

Access your data — all your data is visible to you within the app
Delete your data — contact us and we will permanently delete your account and all associated data within 30 days
Export your data — contact us to request a copy of your data in a readable format
Correct your data — edit or delete any log directly within the app

💗 7. Sensitive Health Data

Menstrual cycle data is classified as sensitive health information under data protection laws including GDPR (EU/UK) and CCPA (California). We take additional care with this data:

It is never used for advertising or sold to any third party
It is never used to train AI or machine learning models
It is accessible only to you, via your authenticated account
Deleting your account permanently removes all health data from our servers

🌸 8. Children's Privacy

This app is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

🔔 9. Notifications

If you enable reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device only. No notification data is sent to our servers. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

📝 10. Changes to This Policy

If we make significant changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and notify you via the app where possible. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
